I can admit it, I have no patience when it comes to gardening
The fulfillment of bringing home flats of flowers and subsequently stuffing them into hanging baskets, hoping for the best is good enough for me this season.
Maybe sometime I will revel in the labour of propagating my own seeds. I do have my days when I choose to roll pasta dough knowing darn well there is Kraft Dinner in the cupboard.
What a privileged life we have if these are our choices...
I think this gardening thing is really cool. In fact it's about time I banish myself from going to any more greenhouses. On cold night like this one where the plants come inside the kitchen turns to a mini-jungle.

Bikini bail
Can you imagine skiing at the end of may?
Sunshine mountain in Banff stays open until May 23 and is rumored to reopen for Canada day too, but don't let me be distracted in this story. That is precisely how the boys got into trouble.
While riding up the mountain, we noticed two women clad in a gold bikini tops just behind us. These were girls taking part in Bikinis for Breast cancer, accepting charitable donations.
Well, the two google eyed monkeys must have left their sense on the chairlift, they collided not more than thirty seconds after this princess Lei sighting. They say this is the first collision for both of them in their ski history.
Coincidence?
Accidents happen to those who aren't looking...perhaps
Accidents happen to those who look too long is also true

Rocks for sale
I decided to build a raised flower bed this year. where to find and take rocks without trouble? Kijiji of course!
An add from Strathmore offered rocks for the taking as long we picked them from his field. I had four totes full within an hour of scouring with sean.
Growing things in that bed could be tricky. The birds in our area seem to be picky eaters and prefer my plant seed to their own bird seed. I'm attempting an ornamental grass theme.
You would almost think I'm from the prairies with that choice.

Keep your friends close
I wonder what contributed more to the proximity of these otherwise enemies?
The fact that the kitty was on a leash.
Or the amount of catnip ingested prior to the photo.

Happy birthday to me!
Sean and I managed to make this sushi mountain on April 5. We ate so much we could hardly move afterwards. Like any wicked hangover, it was probably worth it.
Spring fever
Seems spring has sprung here in Calgary, soon most of our friends will have a wagon in their back yard to haul their tots to the park. But, another option is a baby carrier. Parents seem to like this one as it makes you hands free in a snap. We tried to use a real child but soon found that dolls are more patient with shameless picture takers like me. Kids have some sort of strong aversion to standing still. Also, what luck find to come across a life sized version of Arild?
I wonder the age limit is for this thing? Yes I shamelessly googled the topic. You know what I found? 18 months. My visual of a six year old was much more funny. It's much smaller than a child swing so no I did not even try to stuff myself in it.
Wrath of the trailer
These cupcakes and anti-inflammatories are my arsenal against the trailer that fledged an attack against Sean. He was making a short trip with his suburban when the trailer came unhitched at the lights. He attempted to pull a superman and reconnect it and, well, the trailer won. The whole thing was really unfair, but he all is well as he heals fast, especially when he listens to his physiotherapist. I think it was the sweets that helped the most.
Happy new year!
We had nice fresh snow to skidoo and explore buffalo lake countryside for the new years weekend. We were driving around minding our own business when a porcupine peeked out from the bushes. It was just a little one that didn't know what to do, especially when Sean picked it up! Nicole and I reacted the way that any women would in an intense emotional experience- we screamed and ran. As I write this I am revisiting that moment and maybe I was the only one who screamed and ran.

oh! christmas tree
It might be difficult to spot, but can you guess what our Christmas tree was decorated with this year?
Fishing tackle.
You see, my boyfriend is a collector of all kinds of spinners and spoons and jigs, so much that we could fill the entire 7 foot tall (or more) tree with bright and shiny goods. And if you look even more closely you will see a Calgary flames hat as our angel.
We dragged that tree out of the bush with the skidoo and truely made it our own.
When Christmas was over I finally put my apron to good use sorting through all this stuff.
